Engelska i åk 4-6Snaps is a free and complete story world designed for English education (LGR22).It follows four small forest characters through one long adventure, told in short chapters.Lessons have quizzes, audio, creative reflection, and language building.Everything needed for a complete lesson.
No planning. No fuss. The same story is written in two versions:
One in easy English.
And one in richer, challenging EnglishAll pupils work in the same world, with the same ideas, at a language level that suits them.

I am Andy Coombs and together with my partner, Sarah Scho, we have published more than 100 books in Sweden for learning English.Snaps is part of my current PhD research into how shared stories support language learning, thinking, and classroom dialogue. My work is funded through a stipend from Sveriges Läromedelsförfattare (SLFF), so I can publish everything openly while the research is ongoing. All materials are currently available for free use in your classroom.
Each lesson includes:story text (simple and advanced)
audio
key vocabulary
short comprehension check
one inquiry question
a language task
a creative task
a brief “dinner-time” thought
printable student pack
detailed teacher packLessons are designed to run for 45–60 minutes and to work naturally in mixed-ability groups.

Snaps fully covers the core requirements for English in Lgr22 (Years 4–5).Across the full sequence, pupils practise:listening, reading, speaking and writingeveryday and narrative languagequestions, opinions and simple reasoningfeelings, behaviour, values and relationshipsEach lesson is clearly linked to Lgr22 goals, and the teacher packs show what is being practised and how.You do not need to add anything to make this fit the curriculum.
The curriculum is met through the story work itself.
You can read:the complete story (advanced language)the same story in simpler EnglishBoth versions follow the same chapters, characters and ideas.

Snaps is built to feel calm, creative and fun in the classroom.
Everything is 100% human.
Two years to write the stories and three human years to illustrate. It trusts pupils to think.
It trusts teachers to adapt.
And it lets story do a lot of the work.

Each lesson, is one or two chapters long, one big question, and one shared classroom experience.
